The International Labour Organisation (ILO) says all its 187 member States, have ratified the ILO Convention on the Worst Forms of Child Labour, 1999 (No. 182). ILO Director General, Guy Ryder celebrates the universal ratification of ILO Convention No. 182, the first ILO Convention in history to achieve universal rat ILO held a Conference on Ending Violence and Harassment in the World of Work on 4 December 2019 in Ankara to draw attention to the importance of ratifying the new ILO Convention adopted in June 2019 to combat violence and harassment in the world of work. The conference was organized in the context of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence by UN Turkey in the lead of ILO. Convention No. 182 on the Worst Forms of Child Labour achieved universal ratification, following ratification by the Kingdom of Tonga. Ambassador for the Kingdom of Tonga, Titilupe Fanetupouvava’u Tuivakano, formally deposited the ratification instruments with ILO Director-General, Guy Ryder on 4 August, 2020.
